How we met
Colae and Daniel met briefly after Daniel moved to Seattle in 2004. She and Tony were living together in a big house in Portland and Daniel had come to visit Tony. The next time they met was seven months later when Daniel came to see
Tony’s band, The New Mexican Revolution, play a show. Colae was there taking photos and the two hit it off.
Daniel left the next morning to go back to Seattle but was back in town less than 24 hours later to see Colae again. From that point on, the two started alternating weekends, visiting the other until Colae finally moved to Seattle at the end of the year – for school, of course.
Engagement
Daniel proposed to Colae on the summer solstice in 2007. The story is much better told in person. Here's a picture of the happy couple taken by friends and conspirators in deception, Dan and Rina Luzius, mere hours after the event.
